I was hesitant to even entertain the idea of seeing Freedom Writers.

I know first-hand what a real inner-city classroom looks like, and the way Hollywood has glamorized the institution of teaching in a city classroom is disheartening.

This morning, before I walked out of the door for my last day of student teaching, I got an email from my English supervisor/thesis advisor, which only confirmed my feelings of the Hilary Swank film. Check it out here. I think it is great that people like the movie, but for my sanity, I am just going to keep my real life separate from my film experiences.
