Clearly,

Louie's solution, "Don't even give him the time of day," was the route to go.

Whatever. If you start at the bottom, you will notice how rapidly things declined. His response is italicized.

I'm not sure what's more sad and pathetic - the fact that you cannot act
like an adult to a simple and polite request; or, your continued sense
of "woe is me". If you want to find the source of so many of your
problems, look in the mirror. Get over it and grow up.

When hell freezes over, you repay me for everything I did for you, when your intelligence matches your stupidity, when I happily move back to live in Wausau, and when I am not thankful for the direction my life has taken.
I don't have your shit. I don't want you to know where I am, it is bad enough you found my email. And you are not welcome.

Again, my only question is: if I send you money, would you be willing to send my clothes back to me? Thank you

If you didn't want "difficult" you wouldn't have even contacted me. Period. Did you really think I'd be helpful after what you did to me? Did you honestly think I would assist you in getting your shit back? After the things you said to me and did to me? Please remember, it was you who contacted me. Not the other way around.
If you aren't happy with the way things have turned out, you might want to look in the mirror and place blame in what reflects back at you.

With the subject line: Adios (yep, totally spelled incorrectly too!!)

Best of luck to you in the future. I had hoped for the chance to
apologize and make things right, but understand why you choose to ignore
me. For what it's worth, I do sincerely apologize for hurting you as I
did. Take care of yourself.

Joel

What. The. Fuck?!?!
So I didn't email him back after he emailed me this when I told him I had none of his stuff:
It all got thrown away then I'm assuming - thanks for letting me know.
I hope all is well with you.

And I am baffled as to why, after all this time, he decides to come out of the woodwork. Whatever.

Not in my backyard?

My parents would be heartbroken if they weren't there. I always dreamed of being on the beach, barefoot, with my mom and dad, sister, and gramma, with the man I was destined to be with saying our vows with the backdrop of crashing waves...So, even though I compromised and was going to have a ceremony in my parents' backyard(7/10/2004, once upon a time), I guess it was never meant to be. Which I should have known anyway, since he wasn't willing to give me what I wanted (and needed) anyway.

It is funny how we don't talk on the weekends. Weird and very suspicious.

How a 30 year old *man* breaks up with the person he has been with for 4 years...

Hmm...this might be fun! I can let everyone know how a 30 year old man broke up with someone he was with for four years (and was supposed to marry):
This was the email I got on 9/7/2004:

You want to know what is going on.
I get my phone and I see you've called like a dozen times. You know the reaction that gets from me. I shut it down. And the only way I know how to cope is not answering the phone. It's my way of trying to get through to you. I was going to call you this evening cause you chilled out on it and then you called again.
I'm sorry it's come to this, but I can't deal with you anymore. I don't think us "doing this like adults" will work. It will be the same thing over and over. If we want to break the cycle, we shouldn't see each other to break up. Because it will just end up being the same old situation. You will ask "why I'm doing this to you" or "why do I deserve this". Then you will make me feel guilty, we'll both cave in, and we'll be back to where we are.
***, I love you more than anything, but you drive me crazy. Nothing can be easy with us. And we are in an unhealthy relationship. We are past the point of being able to repair this in my opinion. I don't feel I can talk to you anymore. I just don't know what to say to you anymore, and I don't want to do the same old conversation that goes no where.
I'm sorry.
Jeff

Aren't I lucky??? This should be a fun little experiment!
