he is "sick," and we shared a pot of coffee, and relaxed a moment before he went upstairs to do work on the spare bedroom...
:)
I need to vacuum, dust, and go through my boxes out in the garage.
THE REAL WORLD BLOWS.
Day of hookey with my boyfriend...

Things I am learning...
I don't like being a grown up and "playing house." It is much harder than planned for.
For every single teaching position I apply for here in the Portland area, there are at least 300-500 applicants I am competing against--something that would have been good information to have prior to me moving my ass out here.
I am not a fan of working retail, and I have gained a whole new respect for those who work it for his/her livelihood.
I actually miss Wisconsin, and my family, and my friends.
I hate driving.
I hate living in the suburbs.
I hate having no money.
I hate having no options.

Dreaming I should be...
but I am not.
Instead I am blogging. Ipo is to my left on the floor, Hobbes is in "her" spot on the receiver, and the boys are cuddled together on the chair on my right. The green walls are behind me (there is a quasi-glow about them) and we made it through an hour and ten minutes of An Inconvenient Truth before we couldn't take the depressing-ness of it any longer. Plus, his roommate was supposed to be out today, but alas, no sight of him at all today--even though he insisted he would be gone. HA! We did have a fantastic dinner this evening, and I will post pics as soon as I get my rear-end up tomorrow.
"Happy" Memorial Day.
I am still in Portland. Haven't bailed yet. Yay me.

Day of "domesticity"
Sort of...
It began with an awesome breakfast (cooked by sr.louie)--including fresh (DELICIOUS) pineapple right from the Hawiian Islands...Then, off to Home Depot for some screen so Louie could repair the screen door and windows that were lacking screens.
My mission was to get some color for the downstairs.
I chose Behr: Limeade...
So, I had an 1 1/2" brush to start with. Frustrating to say the least!
Still, I tried to plug away as Louie procured a blood blister fighting with the new screen (it may have been worth the $36 to just by the f*ing thing already done...but I will keep my mouth shut about that!)
And then my boy went back to Home Depot for a roller...YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And we are left with an AWESOME quasi-kermit-the-frog green on one wall (and a little on the ceiling due to a slight malfunction with Louie's rolling "skillz" and maybe a blotch on the side wall and maybe curtain string--I tried really hard to be fastidious!!!!!!!!)
Coat two will be on slate tomorrow...Louie is power-napping on the bed behind me right now. He hates all things to do with painting and screens right now.
Home Improvement Louie DOES NOT = happy Louie.
(when the roommate moves out=eggplant/pomegranate on the walls!!)
P.F.Changs=YUM & Beautiful
The cats are all outside enjoying the beautiful sun, nevermind that the weathergirl said that it was to be cloudy all day today earlier this morning. It is super nice here, and it looks as if we will be doing house-random-stuff today, like rescreening his patio door and lawn mowing (him, not me!) :) so a little bit of domestic land for me today--but every time I think something is going to happen, something comes up to tweak with things...so, we'll see. I just know I am happy that the sun is out and that it is the weekend and that I am feeling slightly better. YAY!
