Now, it is good that Oprah is getting the word out about America's Schools, but I wonder why the important issues haven't been touched upon.
Like, how undervalued the teaching profession is...Or the rigor good teachers go through in college to prepare themselves, but then burn out/get lazy in suburban schools that no one focuses on.
Or the terrible salaries teachers make.
Or how someone really wants to teach in the inner city, where supplies/technology/funding is very much "less-than" but is asked if she is crazy, or 'why do you want to do that?'
Funny, the school I taught at, that has no gym, is merely a few blocks from Ms. Oprah's studio, yet her show today was about schools in the south/D.C. She should just take a walk down in her studio's neighborhood (HA, LMAO YEAH RIGHT!) and check out the schools right in her own backyard...
